One of Bangladesh’s most acclaimed directors, Amitabh has been directing film, television and commercials in Dhaka and beyond for over 15 years.  His most recent feature film, “Anyabaji,” was the recipient of eight international and national film awards. He has won numerous Bangladeshi Critics Awards, including Best Director for his work “Ekti Phon Kora Jabe Please” and “E Somoye,” and Best Screenplay for “Sei Bhoboney in Meril Prothom Alo.”

Amitabh works and lives in his hometown of Dhaka and is founder and president of his own film and production company, Half Stop Down.  Leading a team of talented professionals, Amitabh is perhaps the most prolific of Bangladeshi filmmakers.
 

A graduate of Pune University in Pune, India, Amitabh has also studied film and the American film industry as a guest of the United States government’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
